Wonder Woman, the moral lessons from 1984

I don't know what lane you are on but you are not on the right lane, if you have not read me write about woman power, what is now term feminism. A whole stadium of women gymnast, this movie won me over from the start.

Contrary to the the opening scenes, this movie is not set in the medieval times, when you see WW84, then you just started movie proper. Understand this, movie storylines the presence of superhumans in the 1980s, I hear WW84 inspiration was drawn from Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston in his 1940s stories and George Pérez's 1980s stories about Wonder Woman. It's also nice to set the 2020 comeback at that time. Like I say, stories set back in time come out nicer because no one goes through the trouble to compromise on good content.

The good content is, "No true hero is born from lies, we don't become legend out of haste."

When Diana took the short path, we were just too happy she was going to win anyways, some might even call her smart. That is the new normal of the world we live:

"At Black Gold Corporative, all you need is to want it."

"Hasn't it been a lot of days", Ponzi scheme, rings a bell? The writer of this movie has some morals to teach everyone else. Like acts of bravery, patience, diligence and courage to face the truth.

Mine was, your wish will cost you. On the wishing stone, any era it appears, their civilization collapsed catastrophically without a traces as to why. To some it is the dream-stone but lose no guard for what the stone is, the monkey's paw. It grants your wish for your most valued possession.

What's more precious than what you wished for? I hope we all don't learn this late.

This is not a movie summary, angry I don't appreciate spoiler alerts myself. And I am not your typical movie critic because this review is according to my movie taste slash preferences and just enough hype to advise your next movie. I am not a preacher of spoiler alert lipsrsealed, thank you.

What we once believed Chapter Two

Starting well and finishing strong, that is the story of the campus fellowship excos; the perfect story but this story am about to tell you is imperfect. I have known Brother Seun ever since my predegree days. In short, everyone knows Brother Seun, the evangelism coordinator. So let’s quickly run through his personality profile. Loveable? Check, vibrant? Check, dedicated? Check, outspoken? Check, heaven trembling and demon chaser? Check, handsome? If I hear; but whatever he lacked at that department, he made up for in suave. However, he is not my favourite kind of person reason being he was egoistic and showy. If he had stopped at that perhaps it would have been manageable but he had a weakness, sisters. As a friend would say, ‘ministry for the sisters.’ He would stop at nothing to catch the attention of sisters in the fellowship. Now don’t misconstrue me; he was not in any immoral act or anything with them, he just lives for female attention. To anyone else, it might seem just ordina...

Nneka The Pretty Serpent, part two?

Viewers Digression: Paranormal movie. I do not know what I was thinking buying a ticket to see movie, normally I don't do paranormal. Paranormal are movies on metaphysics, metaphysics= spirits and magic. As a good Christian girl, I'm sorry it doesn't seat well with me. So from title, snake girl is a giveaway, seeing Nneka, red flag but the hype on social media was tempting. First the movie flier I saw had a village setting or was that my imagination, ooh now I know, the 30years ago backtrack. I'm a sucker for movies set in the 90s and backwards. There is something original about those movies, that a playwright can recreate those scene, actually wins for effort. No one spends that much on costume and stage to release rubbish. On rubbish, Nneka storyline just suck. If there is a parts 2, No am not watching! The movie started with lot of promise, but in between the serial killing, the writer lost it. For acting, all crew were perfect to the T. Especially Ada played by Bimb...

What we once believed Chapter Three

Sister Dorcas is another such vibrant sister in the fellowship. She is my level mate and I guess she did pre-degree like me but I don’t notice her until when we were freshers. And trust me; I was always sitting on the noticing pew, the back benchers. You get to see who comes and go, who has the hottest heels or who is wearing the oxygen trousers. For those who don’t  know what the oxygen trousers is, well Fashion Police 101, those over-zealous brothers who wear oversize everything; trousers, oversize, shirt or coat, oversize even the shoes, it has to be ancient in design. Obviously, the wide trousers let in air and the overall effect makes them look like astronauts in space suit. Well, astronauts need oxygen in space. Even when Tiwa, my friend and I started noticing Dorcas, she is snobbish and does not hang around after service. After the benediction of every service, she picks up her bag, bones face and goes home. Well it is not like we were going to make friends with her or even...
